why Apple takes out FireWire from new macbook?

October 15, 2008

Simple, ‘because macbook got an nvidia GPU.
Folks, think about that, waht was the most dealbreaker on the old macbook compared to the macbook pro? the lack of a decent GPU.

Now Apple wants to get all the consumers that discard a macbook ’cause wasn’t enough to play videogames so thay got a dedicated GPU, but Apple doesn’t want that you install Final Cut Studio on a “cheap” macbook and use your professional fireware staff, so the old dealbreaker was the GPU (but lack of GPU made Apple loose many consumers the target of a macbook) now tha dealbreaker is FireWire.

It’cruel but for me is the right choice.
The consumer not even know what firewire his, but he knows what he needs for videogames, the prosumer off course is quitre hangry, but a “good” prosumer also suffer for the cheap Intel GPU.

Many are saying… ooooo but all my DV camera? DV camera? come on! All the new HardDisk or SD camera, even HD (High Definition) got a USB2! You are a consumer and have a DV camera? You want macbook? You’ll be happy to update your old DV camera with a brand new SD one…

So they to choose between give you a GPU or leave a FireWire or give you an nvidia… from the consumer point of view (and consumers ARE the macbook buyers) they made the RIGHT choice!

Off course, it’s “bad” for the “prosumer” but prosumer are nothing compared to the thoutsands consumer that want play videogames on theyr macbook.

So, dear prosumer, you are making noise, but take out FireWire is a really smart way to give a powerfull GPU to a macbook without take out market to the macbook pro!

That is what I think… and you?
